WIP Owl

A work-in-progress. I think I'm going to add some watercolor to this, just to highlight certain areas. We'll see. But first, I have to figure out how to fix his legs, which are bothering me. They are supposed to look like he's holding the up close to his body, but they just look "off" to me. Hmmm....

Sweet Dreams - Dream Catchers

Legend says if you hang a Dream Catcher over your bed, your bad dreams will get snared in the webbing (keeping them from you) while your good dreams flow freely through the opening in the center.

These lovely (but very non-traditional!) dream catchers are hand-crafted by me and infused with good thoughts and intentions for peaceful slumber.

Favorite Things: Owls and Trees

Most people who know me know that two of my favorite things in the world are owls and trees. Owls because I had an up close and personal encounter with not one, but three, barred owls when we were living in Florida, and trees because, well...they're trees: old, majestic, and mysterious sentries standing guard over nature and life.

Both of these favorite things found their way onto a series of bracelets I'm painting. I love this series. Don't know how many I will be doing but they make me quite happy so maybe a few more. :) The first three have been promised to a brand new artisan gallery and boutique that is opening in Franklin, PA on the 27th of August. It's called Hatched, and I'm delighted to be part of their new venture. If you're anywhere near the area, take a drive to charming Franklin and stop in to see my owl bracelets in person!

Here are the first two in the series:

New Designs for the Shop

Every year I do at least five new card designs and six or seven new mini and/or regular sized bookmark designs. These are the new ones for 2012. They are available now in my online shop. Please stop in and see them!

You are Loved

I love to paint angels and haven't done one in a while. Here's the latest: "You are Loved...Always."

Bracelets for Sale

Finally was able to get some bracelets in my online shop. All of the others went to the brick & mortar here in town for the shop opening. I'm particularly fond of these three, with their summer colors and just a bit of whimsy. If you'd like to check them out in the shop, go here. I will be adding another one sometime tomorrow evening.

Have I mentioned I love making these things? :)

Celebrating Summer Colors

Just have to do the final finishing on these and they will be in my online shop for purchase. I'm not big on summer heat and humidity, but I love summer colors! :)

This is the third in a series of silhouettes I'm doing in mixed media: an in-progress shot, and the finished piece.

Bracelet Overload

Trying to get ready for the opening of our local artisan store, Artisans of Hands and Heart. I've been making bracelets like crazy. :) Here's a few more that are done (except the butterfly one doesn't have it's gloss finish yet).

Collaged Bracelets

I'm having a blast in the Metamorphosis Collage Bracelets class with Mary Jane Chadbourne via An Artful Gathering. Being able to incorporate my own original art really makes these special. What a lovely and generous teacher Mary Jane is! ❤

Midnight Owl

I was quite fond of the owl I did in the piece "When Things Go Bump in the Night" so I painted one on its own. Not quite sure if it's done yet, but something is telling me to keep it simple.
